An X-Ray Technician (also known as X-Ray Technologist or Radiographer) uses cutting-edge imaging methods to visualize the inside of the human body. The pictures they create help physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries with great accuracy.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Take X-Rays of a specific area of a patient’s body
  • Work with patients to explain the procedure, position them correctly, and remove any items through which x-rays can not pass
  • Ensure the surrounding area is covered by lead shields and other such materials for safety purposes
  • Operate and maintain radiography equipment
  • Work with a wide variety of imaging technologies, including:
    • Computerized axial tomography (CT)
    • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
    • Fluoroscopy
    • Mammography

Course Details

  • 1 year course
  • Certified by Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC)
  • Includes 6-8 months internship
  • Eligibility: 12th Science
